The Art Exhibition is 4th in the series "Beautiful Bountiful Michigan" art exhibition. The 2023 artwork depicts "Scenic Michigan" including a special category for the historic landscape of southeast Michigan. The Exhibition will have over 150 pieces of original artwork on display with numerous different art mediums including oil, watercolor, acrylic, wood burning, beaded, glass and much more! This Exhibition is free to attend.
The River Raisin National Battlefield Park Foundation is pleased to announce a special Scenic Michigan Art Scavenger Hunt and Drawing! The activity is part of the 4th in the series “Beautiful Bountiful Michigan” art exhibition.
We cordially invite you and your family to enjoy the Scenic Michigan Art Exhibition free of charge as well as participate in a fun educational scavenger hunt that could net you a gift certificate to the River Raisin Depot gift shop for $50! A perfect activity for everyone and free of charge! Explore the 170 works of art throughout the new education center and look for clues! Plus, you will get a sneak peak at the new displays and a preview of what’s to come in the state-of-the-art education center.
There are two ways to be entered into the drawing:
- Complete the Scavenger Hunt and present the correct answers to the Ranger on duty. Limit of one entry per person.
- Attend one or more of the Artist Programs during the month of April and turn in the ticket to the front desk. Limit of one entry per person.
The Scavenger Hunt is available during the Exhibition daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the River Raisin National Battlefield Park Visitor Center located at 333 N. Dixie Highway in Monroe, Michigan. Entries must be submitted in person by 4:30 pm April 30th. The winner of a $50 gift certificate to the Depot will be drawn on May 1st and contacted by phone or mail.

April 1: 10am-5pm, opening day
April 2: 11am-4pm, Crafter Mary Minney in the Fiber Workshop demonstrating weaving
April 3: 12pm-3pm, Artists in Residence, Brandy Gerber and Darlene Belair will be painting the education center wall mural.
April 4: 1pm-3pm, Artists Becky Mullins and Anne Rouan will be demonstrating wood burning and acrylic painting.
April 5: 12pm-3pm, Artists in Residence, Brandy Gerber and Darlene Belair will be painting with acrylics and mixed medium techniques.
April 10: 12pm-3pm, Artists in Residence, Brandy Gerber and Darlene Belair will be painting the education center wall mural.
April 11: 1pm-4pm, Artist Gladys Drummonds will demonstrate water color painting.
April12: 12pm-3pm, Artists in Residence, Brandy Gerber and Darlene Belair will be painting the education center wall mural.
April 13: Artist Karen McLaughlin will demonstrate water color painting.
April 14: 1pm-4pm, Bedford Art Club members, Kathy Skaff and Faye Edinger, will be demonstrating acrylic painting.
April 15: 1pm-4pm, Painting Class (fee) with Brandy Gerber, Paint an acrylic Lotus Painting, call park to register.
April16: 11am-4pm, Crafter Mary Minney in the Fiber Workshop demonstrating weaving.
April 17: 12pm-3pm, Artists in Residence, Brandy Gerber and Darlene Belair will be painting the education center wall mural.
April 18: 1pm-4pm, Artist Gladys Drummonds will demonstrate water color painting.
April 19: 12pm-3pm, Artists in Residence, Brandy Gerber and Darlene Belair will be demonstrating acrylic painting and plaster application to frames.
April 20: 12pm-3pm, Artist Susan Siebarth will demonstrate painting or color pencil.
April 21: 1-3pm, Artist Pauline Harmon will demonstrate Scratch board.
April 22: 1pm-3pm, Artist David Larkins will paint demonstration, Monet style.
April 23: 11am-4pm, Crafter Mary Minney in the Fiber Workshop demonstrating weaving.
April 24: 12pm-3pm, Artists in Residence, Brandy Gerber and Darlene Belair will be painting the education center wall mural.
April 25: 12pm-4pm, Artist David Grose will demonstrate acrylic painting.
April 26: 12pm-3pm, Artists in Residence, Brandy Gerber and Darlene Belair will be painting the education center wall mural.
