If you are a City of Monroe resident and would like to serve our community by running for office, here you will find dates to remember and requirements.

Upcoming Elections

Elections for the City of Monroe, Mayor, Council and Clerk-Treasurer are held in November of odd election years (2021, 2023, 2025, etc.). 

Signature Requirements for Office

  • Nomination of elective officers to be by petition: (Non-Partisan)

    • Mayor, Council and Clerk-Treasurer - Not less than 50 signatures; no more than 60 electors of the City.

The deadline to file nominating petitions and affidavits of identity is:. Tuesday, July 25, 2023: 4:00 PM EST.
