Elections

City Elections are held in the City of Monroe every year.* Elections are held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November (General Election).

Polling places are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on election days. The City Clerk is the City's chief elections officer and is responsible for the administration of all City Elections.

Important Dates

  • Monday, July 9, 2018Last Day to Register to Vote in time for the August 7, 2018 election.

  • Saturday, August 14, 2018 - Last day for electors who wish to receive an absent ballot for election by mail to submit applications. 

  • Monday, August 16, 2018 - Electors qualified to obtain an absent voter ballot for the election but will need to vote in person at the Clerk's Office. Persons qualified to vote by absentee ballot may obtain a ballot in person at the City Clerk's Office until 4:00pm Monday, August 6, 2018 and must vote that ballot in the City Clerk's Office
