Draft 2019 - 2023 Master Plan

The City of Monroe has updated its Parks and Recreation Five-Year Master Plan and will accept written comments on the proposed plan until December 16, 2018.

The Plan is a requirement to remain eligible for state and federal grants administered by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and will help guide the future development of parks and recreation in the City. The proposed Parks and Recreation Master Plan is available for public review at the Parks and Recreation Department (120 East First Street, Monroe, Michigan 48161) and on the City’s website (monroemi.gov).

Recreation Master Plan

In 2014, the City of Monroe completed a 5 year master plan. This plan includes a detailed inventory of the parks and recreation assets in the City of Monroe, a description of the public input and planning process, an outline of the City’s recreation goals and objectives, and an action program with specific directives for the next five years.
