Installed Art Application
Recognizing the importance of installed works of art, in November of 2023 the City Council of the City of Monroe passed an
Installed Public Art Ordinance #23-004. Any works of art or creative artistic expression intended to be installed on, in, or as a part of public spaces, public assets, public property, or public rights-of-way or private property licensed to the City for purposes of display are subject to this ordinance. Examples include but are not limited to: Stand Alone: Sculptures; Integrated (into facades, pavements, landscapes): geoglyphs, mosaics; and Applied (to a surface): murals, building-mounted sculptures.
