About Elections
Michigan through election laws has established three potential election dates each year*:
- The May regular election date, which is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in May
- The August regular election date, which is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in August.
- The November regular election date, which is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.
Polling places are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on election days. The City Clerk is the City's chief elections officer and is responsible for the administration of all City Elections.
*Presidential election years can include one additional election date for a total of four potential elections.
