Tax Incentives: Brownfield Redevelopment Authority
The State of Michigan defines a Brownfield as a property that is contaminated, blighted, or functionally obsolete. There are a series of incentives available to parties interested in Brownfield redevelopment including grants and loans for site assessment and cleanup. Additionally, Tax Increment Financing is also available to qualifying properties.
The City of Monroe Brownfield Redevelopment Authority exists to assist commercial and industrial property owners to identify, assess, and remediate Brownfield sites for future use.
