Mosquito Control
The Public Services Department performs treatment of mosquitoes within the City of Monroe only at the larval stage. Over 3,000 briquettes are placed within drainage structures in May to control breeding, and pellets are placed in detention ponds and swales within City facilities on a monthly basis. The City has found that early season prevention, rather than reactive adult spraying, yields much more favorable results and is the most efficient use of taxpayer resources. Please contact the Public Services Department for further information.
