Prescription Drug Drop Off - Red Med Box
Working in partnership with Red Med Box, the Monroe Police Department provides a Drug Drop Box as a safe means of disposal for expired, unwanted, and unused medications. The Monroe Police Department will now accept unwanted prescription medications on a continuous basis. We recognize the importance of providing the community with a secure place to do this. By creating a secure place to dispose of prescription medications we will be able to reduce the amount of unused and/or expired prescription medications from accidentally or intentionally being consumed by children, sold on the street or improperly disposed of in landfill or sewer systems which can negatively affect our environment.
Citizens can turn in unwanted medications during our regular business hours by bringing them to the Monroe Police Department located at 100 E Second Street.
Please note: We do not accept needles, liquids, thermometers, IV bags, empty containers, used epi-pens, aerosol cans, inhalers, electronic devices, or creams.
A person turning in prescription medications can remain anonymous if they choose.
