Snow Emergencies
From time to time, the City of Monroe must declare a snow emergency to keep main travel routes within the city clear of parked vehicles. These streets can then be efficiently plowed by the Department of Public Service. Snow emergencies can occur either ahead of, or in the early hours, of a snow event and are declared by the City Manager.
When a Snow Emergency is declared, parking is prohibited on the designated routes listed below. Residents are encouraged to park on other neighboring streets until major streets have been cleared. This allows us to better serve you in providing efficient plowing services. A Snow Emergency is essentially lifted when streets have been cleared from curb to curb.
