River Raisin Stewardship Camp

Discover, Protect, and Lead at the River Raisin Stewardship Camp!

The City of Monroe Commission on the Environment and Water Quality is excited to announce the first River Raisin Stewardship Camp, a unique opportunity for young residents to connect with nature and become stewards of our local waterways.

  • Dates: August 4–9
  • Location: River Raisin National Battlefield Park
  • Cost: $50 per camper
  • Space is limited! Only 15 campers per session.

Programs Offered:

RIVER RANGERS  (Grades K–2)
August 4–7, 8–11 AM

  • Young explorers will discover the wonders of the River Raisin through storytelling, nature walks, water-themed crafts, and observing local wildlife.

WATER WARRIORS  (Grades 3–6)
August 4–7, 12–3 PM

  • Campers will dive deeper into environmental science with activities like water quality testing, identifying invasive species, and creating educational videos to share what they learn with our community.

ECOLEADERS SUMMIT  (Grades 7–12)
August 8, 9 AM–3 PM & August 9, 8 AM–1 PM

  • Calling all future leaders! Learn about Monroe’s Action Plan for the River Raisin, develop real-world environmental leadership skills, and help organize the River Raisin Cleanup Day on August 9.
