For many of us, M*A*S*H reruns are our only source of knowledge of military chaplains - members of the clergy attached to the US Armed Forces. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn of the many duties performed by military chaplains – some solemn, some joyful, but all crucial. Military Chaplains: Their Mission, Their Gear, Their Faith features the field/traveling gear of clergy of diverse faiths. Uniforms, photos, and personal items will also help tell the stories of these dedicated clerics.
During the seven days of the exhibit, militaria expert Bob Heskett will be on hand to introduce visitors to his ‘chaplain gear’ collection, considered to be one of the region’s finest assemblies of these portable, durable, precious items. Admission to the Park, the exhibit, and the talk, is free.
